Debbie Ranier Receives 2016 Clara Barton Honor Award

11/30/2016 (Permalink)

The Red Cross presented Ranier with the 2016 Clara Barton Honor award for the Eastern Kentucky chapter. The award is given to those that have shown exceptional dedication and hard work to a particular chapter of the Red Cross.

As a valued service marketing representative with SERVPRO of VND and BCHM, Ranier always wants to help those in need—she immediately became invested in volunteering with SERVPRO’s national partner, the Red Cross.

Ranier serves as a board member for the Eastern Kentucky chapter working directly within disaster services. Starting in 2013, Ranier took on roles as a community volunteer lead and an intake volunteer.

American Red Cross founder Clara Barton risked her life to bring supplies and support to soldiers in the field during the Civil War. She did what she felt was right to save lives and relieve unimaginable suffering. In doing so, she blazed a bold path and set the standard for future generations of Red Cross supporters and volunteers.”

SERVPRO and the American Red Cross Prepare Homeowners and Businesses

4/29/2016 (Permalink)

It is estimated that up to 50% of businesses that close due to a disaster, such as fire and flood never reopen!  Of the businesses that survive, the overwhelming majority of them had a preparedness plan in place.

As National Partners with the American Red Cross, SERVPRO of Versailles, Nicholasville, and Danville implements programs designed to readily prepare businesses, homeowners, and other organizations in emergency situations. Our goal is to increase readiness and preparedness amongst businesses & Families. The American Red Cross Ready Rating Program is a measurable, visible framework. The program offers concrete practices and tips to improve an organizations level of preparedness. It starts with an assessment designed to measure your current level of preparedness. After the assessment, a generator will create an OSHA (Occupational Safety and Health Administration) compliant Emergency Action Plan for you or your business.

The SERVPRO Emergency READY Profile serves as a quick reference of important building and contact information or can be an ideal supplement to any well-designed emergency preparedness or existing contingency program, such as the American Red Cross Ready Rating Program.  By working with SERVPRO of Versailles, Nicholasville & Danville, we’ll help to develop a personalized Emergency READY Profile, filled with the critical information you need in the event, of fire damage, smoke damage, A flood or other water damage.

Preparation is a key component to surviving any size disaster, whether it’s a small water leak, a large fire, or an area flood.  The best time to plan for such events is not when the event happens, but well before it happens.
